Hello Tuners, We would like to thank all of you who have become a part of this movement. GndTuners hopes to bring you the very latest on the automotive scene in Grenada. The idea was simple: create an outlet for auto enthusiasts to come together, communicate, and share knowledge and ideas using a modern community based forum. We felt that there was a void in this area and decided to take up the challenge. We had talked about starting an automotive website for a few months prior to actually committing to it. On Saturday, the 2nd of May, 2009, we cracked our knuckles and went to work. We dipped into our pockets and came up with the money necessary to host such a website. Having little experience in the area, the task seemed daunting. Sleepless nights were spent trying to create a layout that was simple, modern, and easy on the eyes. We structured the website so that we could cover a range of topics: auto related events scheduled in Grenada, in-depth articles showcasing special local cars, and a modern forum where users have a multitude of features at their disposal. Some of the key forum attributes are:
- The ability to create various forums for different topics resulting in highly structured information. - Users are able to create a profile, and are also able to personalize their posts via the addition of an avatar and a personal signature. - Users are able to use the internal network of the forum and send Private Messages (PM’s) to other users.
On the 7th of May, 2009, the site was released. It wasn’t even a site at that point, merely a homepage to give everyone an idea of what was in store for the near future. By the next day the forum was launched, and users were able to join and start posting. By the 9th of May the forum had over 40 registered members; to say that we were surprised at that type of response would be an understatement. After only a week of its inception, the site has grown everyday to 80+ members using the forum. Thanks again for your support and stay tuned for more event updates and featured articles.
